This is probably the most exciting music on The British Jazz Scene.
This is HEXAGONAL..The rhythm is incredible & it’s bolt down the seats time..
HEXAGONAL.  This 6 piece outfit came together in 2016 & in the past 3 years have
headlined many UK jazz festivals with great success .. They were here in 2018 & we
just had to get them back to the FJC…This is one of the most exciting instrumental
outfits of the decade & loaded with top quality musicians & was formed to play the
music of the late great South African composer & multi instrumentalist Bheki Mseleku
& also complimented by some of the music of the great American pianist Mccoy Tyner
Jason Yarde – alto & baritone sax . One of the most exciting saxophonists on the planet
with a CV that reads like the history & the future of jazz ..
Greg Heath – tenor sax. Originally from New Zealand, this man has made his mark
on the British jazz scene & is a great leader & sideman
Graeme Flowers – trumpet Top man & one of most sought after trumpets on BJS
John Donaldson – piano. One of the UK’s top jazz pianists
Simon Thorpe – double bass, ditto above & an FJC favorite .
Tristan Banks – drums. World class drummer / percussionist
